Save Chiropractic Week!
Posted on 2011-11-24 04:18:01
I need your help!
Chiropractic as you know it may be changing if we don't do something about it. On December 14th, 2011 there is a hearing at the Department of Education in Virginia. There are a group of people who are in charge of regulating Chiropractic Education called the CCE who are wanting to make prescribing drugs and allowing for minor surgery to be a regular part of my profession. As well, they want to have the terminology Veterbral Subluxation removed from our profession. These are the things the keeps Chiropractic separate and distinct from standard medicine.
If this law gets past my profession will be changed forever and the philosophy and principles of Chiropractic will be lost. Chiropractic was always intended to be a drug free and surgery free approach to health care. It is an alternative from mainstream medicine. We do not need another doctor who has the right to prescribe drugs. Chiropractic means done by hand. There is no place for drugs and surgery in Chiropractic.
I am concerned that what I love so dearly will be lost forever. With your help today there is a chance we can save it.
Please take a moment to click on this link and sign this petition. It will take you only 20 seconds of your time. It means a lot to me and even more to my profession.

Our goal is to collect over 1 million signatures to show the Department of Education that the public does not support this change.
I love you all and appreciate your support.

Gratitude Month!

GRATITUDE MONTH!
December is upon us once again. The Holiday Season lights are shining, the stores are beautifully decorated and the children are buzzing with anticipation of Christmas.
For us at Divine Spine, we open our hearts to those who are less fortunate. It is the time of year where we always give. We are giving again to the Ballard Food Bank. They are an inspiring group of people who work so hard year round to provide food and supplies for those in need.
Therefore, we ask you all to bring in a donation this December, anything from food to bathroom supplies to money. The food bank is in need as the demands become even great at this time of year. We have a company goal to raise $1000 dollars! The money is what they really need so please open up your wallets and give what you can. We will have a bin at the office for December to collect anything else you can give.
Also, we are accepting any new people you can refer our way and what we are doing is giving away our exam and review of findings visit in exchange we are asking for the new person to give a minimum $30 to the Ballard Food Bank.
Please join us in giving generously to the food bank so together we can make a difference in someone's life this Holiday Season.
With love and generosity,
Dr. Derek Strachan D.C.
Happy Thanks Giving!

Happy Thanks Giving Divine Spiners!
Yesterday I was able to attend a Thanks Giving function at my son's school (I attached a photo of him when he was 4 days old). My wife was in charge of organizing the schools Thanks Giving event. What they did was made meals for 30 seniors and delivered them to their homes. The grade 3 students also made 'Stone Soup'. If you have ever read the book you will remember that stone soup is about a whole community contributing to the making of a soup that they all share in. Each child in my son's school brought their favorite vegetable and it was put into the pot and someone made an amazing soup that fed about 100 people!
It was an incredible event to see each child beaming with pride as they got to share with their parents this soup that they contributed to and then delivering meals to seniors. This one lady we brought a meal to was so emotional about us bringing her food. The kids sang her two songs and her heart was so open. What a beautiful moment to witness. My heart was definately wide open!
This is what Thanks Giving is all about for me. Giving for the sake of giving, touching someone else's heart. The seniors were touched, the children were touched and all the parents were touched. What goodness to put into the universe. The vibration of the world was elevated by a few simple acts of kindness. Peoples lives were brightened. It warms my heart to think that 30 seniors today will have food for Thanks Giving. The children of the school made a difference.
I am so grateful to be alive! To be a part of all of your lives. I give thanks to each and everyone of you for allowing me to be a part of your life. You have enriched my life beyond words. I wake up every morning giving thanks for each of you. I am so inspired by you! We all have so much to live for.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Make today Great! Reach out and extend a warm heart to a stranger, to someone you know, whomever. Give them a soft touch or a warm smile, every little bit matters.
I love you all and wish you a wonderfully bountiful Thanks Giving.
